There is something special about every one of us, something we were created to do. Our existence is not a mistake, it serves a purpose. We are here for a purpose greater than ourselves, we are here for a purpose greater than earning a paycheck and spending it on material things.
If you're a believer, God has blessed you with a gift and it is your mission in life to determine what that gift is and to use it.
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith, if it is serving, then serve, if it is teaching, then teach, if it is to encourage, then give encouragement, if it is giving, then give generously, if it is to lead, do it diligently, if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. - Romans 12:6-8

Your gift may seem "basic" to you but as long as you're doing God's work and making a positive impact, it is beyond extraordinary.
We are God's servants and we all play a part in making this world a better place. When you know your gift and refuse to use it, you're not only doing a disservice to God and yourself but you're doing a disservice to the world. The world needs you, don't deprive it of knowing who you are.
You can't just take from this world, you also have to give.
Stop playing small because you're fearful or think you're unworthy, this ISN'T about you! This is about how your gift can add value to the lives of others. Don't worry about not being the best or not having the most knowledge, experience etc. Don't worry about the industry being "overcrowded," there is enough room for everyone and you may be able to reach an audience that others can't or you may be able to bring some uniqueness to the table. Don't worry about your gift not being "big enough."
Don't talk yourself out of doing something great and meaningful. God wants you to step out of the boat and walk on water.
Last year, if someone told me that I would launch a motivational website and share my story, I would have been like cool story but here I am. I never imagined I would be doing this and I'm still fearful, I didn't even want to place my picture on the website. Everyday isn't the same, some days I don't feel to write or post and not because I'm not proud of what I'm doing or I dont find it meaningful but because I'm human and I'm not perfect. I've done things I'm not proud of and I struggle with the same battles that many millenials face but you know what? I still do this everyday, you have to show up regardless. When God knocks, you have to open the door.
If you know your gift and you're currently using it, God bless you. Don't let anything or anyone deter you from your mission. The journey may not be easy but it is surely worth it. There will come a time when you may want to give up and you may even think that you're not making a difference but my advice is to keep going. You may be inspiring people who will never tell you that you are, we all love recognition but when you are confident in who you are and whose you are, recognition doesn't matter. Be not weary in your well doing, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up.
Use your gift and God will work out the rest for you.
